Publication ethics

REDA is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics in order to ensure the integrity, transparency, and quality of the editorial process.

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, unpublished, and are not under consideration for publication by any other journal. They are also responsible for presenting research findings honestly and accurately, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation of data.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, confidential, and constructive evaluations that contribute to improving the scientific quality of submitted manuscripts. The Editorial Team is committed to ensuring a fair, impartial, and transparent editorial process, with all editorial decisions based solely on the scientific merit and academic quality of the submitted work.

Peer review policy

All manuscripts submitted to REDA undergo a double-anonymous peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

The editorial process begins with an initial assessment by the Editorial Team to determine whether the manuscript falls within the journal's aims and scope and complies with its editorial and submission requirements. Manuscripts that successfully pass this preliminary screening are then evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers with recognized expertise in the subject area of the submission.

Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the Editor's assessment, one of the following editorial decisions may be issued:

  • Accept
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Major revisions required
  • Reject

Originality and plagiarism policy

REDA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and has adopted a strict policy on originality and plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, prior to the peer review process.

The overall similarity index must not exceed 20%, excluding references, properly quoted material, and correctly cited sources. Similarity reports are assessed by the Editorial Team, which considers not only the percentage of similarity but also the nature and significance of the matched content.

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, and other forms of research misconduct are considered serious violations of publication ethics. Manuscripts found to contain such practices will be rejected immediately. If misconduct is identified after publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article and take any additional editorial actions deemed appropriate in accordance with internationally recognized standards of publication ethics.

Conflict of interest policy

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the editorial process, the conduct of the research, or the interpretation of the results.

REDA is committed to ensuring transparency in the disclosure and management of conflicts of interest and will take all appropriate measures to safeguard the fairness, integrity, and impartiality of the editorial process.

Authorship policy

REDA adopts the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) as the standard framework for transparently identifying the individual contributions of each author to published manuscripts. This practice promotes academic integrity, enhances authorship transparency and accountability, and ensures appropriate recognition of each contributor's specific role in the research process.

At the time of manuscript submission, authors must provide a detailed Author Contributions Statement, specifying the role(s) performed by each author in accordance with the CRediT taxonomy. Each author may be assigned one or more contributor roles, and each role may be shared by multiple authors.

The contributor roles defined by the CRediT taxonomy are:

  • Conceptualization: formulation of the research goals, objectives, and overarching research ideas.
  • Methodology: development or design of the methodology, including the creation of models or analytical approaches.
  • Software: programming, software development, implementation of computer code, or development of computational tools.
  • Validation: verification of the reproducibility, accuracy, and reliability of research findings and analyses.
  • Formal Analysis: application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or other analytical techniques to interpret research data.
  • Investigation: conducting experiments, collecting data, or performing fieldwork and other research activities.
  • Resources: provision of study materials, biological samples, laboratory equipment, instrumentation, or other essential resources.
  • Data Curation: management, organization, annotation, and maintenance of research data to ensure its quality and long-term usability.
  • Writing – Original Draft: preparation and writing of the initial draft of the manuscript.
  • Writing – Review & Editing: critical review, revision, and editing of the manuscript, including substantive intellectual contributions.
  • Visualization: preparation and presentation of figures, tables, graphical elements, and other visual materials.
  • Supervision: oversight, leadership, and coordination of the research project and research team.
  • Project Administration: management and coordination of the planning and execution of the research project.
  • Funding Acquisition: securing financial support and funding for the research project.

The Author Contributions Statement will be published as part of the final article and must accurately reflect the actual contribution of each author. All authors share responsibility for the content of the manuscript and must approve the final version prior to publication.

Funding statement

Authors must disclose all sources of financial support that contributed to the conduct of the research and/or the preparation of the manuscript. A Funding Statement must be included in the manuscript at the time of submission.

Artificial intelligence policy

REDA permits the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support the preparation of scientific manuscripts, provided that such use is responsible, transparent, and consistent with the principles of research integrity and publication ethics.

The use of AI tools exclusively for linguistic or editorial purposes—such as spelling correction, grammar checking, language editing, translation, or stylistic improvement—does not need to be disclosed by authors. However, when AI tools are used to generate or substantially contribute to the scholarly content of a manuscript, including data analysis, interpretation of results, generation of figures or diagrams, data processing, or computer code generation, authors must disclose their use. Such disclosure should identify the AI tool employed and briefly describe how it contributed to the research or manuscript preparation.

This information should be included, as appropriate, in the Materials and Methods, Supplementary Materials (including the prompts used, where applicable), and/or Acknowledgements section.

Regardless of the use of AI tools, authors remain fully responsible for the authenticity, accuracy, integrity, originality, and scientific validity of the content submitted. REDA reserves the right to request additional information or clarification whenever necessary to verify compliance with the journal's editorial and ethical policies.

Research data policy

REDA promotes the transparency, accessibility, and responsible sharing of research data. Authors are encouraged to deposit the data supporting their findings in recognized open-access repositories and to provide sufficient information to enable the verification, reproducibility, and reuse of their research.

Where applicable, authors should include a Data Availability Statement indicating where the data can be accessed or explaining any restrictions on data availability.

Identifiers and metadata policy

All articles published in REDA are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure permanent identification and citation.

All authors are required to provide their ORCID iD at the time of manuscript submission to facilitate accurate author identification and attribution.

REDA is committed to maintaining high-quality metadata to enhance the discoverability, interoperability, and indexing of its published content in international bibliographic databases and scholarly information systems.

Open access and copyright policy

REDA is an open-access journal that provides immediate and unrestricted access to all published content, without subscription or access fees for readers.

Authors retain the copyright of their published works while granting the journal the right of first publication.

All published content is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, which permits users to copy, distribute, share, adapt, and reuse the material in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), appropriate attribution is provided, a link to the license is included, and any changes made are clearly indicated.

Article processing charges

REDA does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, editorial processing, or publication. Accordingly, all stages of the publication process—including submission, peer review, editorial handling, and publication—are provided free of charge to authors.

The journal does not impose Article Processing Charges (APCs) or any other editorial fees, reaffirming its commitment to equitable open-access publishing and the unrestricted dissemination of scientific knowledge.

This policy aims to encourage the participation of researchers, academics, agricultural extension practitioners, and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector by promoting the generation, dissemination, and exchange of high-quality scientific knowledge without financial barriers.
